We had another lazy morning at the campsite, slowly getting ready and having breakfast.

We then headed out in the car for about an hours drive from the site, to Cornish Seal Sanctuary in Gweek. I visited this about 8 years ago with Joe and honestly couldn’t remember much about it. It is situated on the Helford River, which is stunning. The car park is quite steep and then you have to go up quite a steep hill to get to the main part of the attraction. Luckily, they were running a regular bus shuttle service, which we jumped on. It then takes you up this hill, and the views of the river from the top are stunning. They have a great variety of animals (not just seals!), they have otters, huge and I mean HUGE sea lions, lots of rescued seals and seal pups and penguins. We absolutely love seals as we have quite a few on Looe Island and so its lovely to be able to see the important work that the sanctuary do by caring and ideally releasing seals back into the wild. We had a good walk around and stopped for lunch at the cafe (I had a pasty and crisps!). It isn’t a huge site so when we had been seen all there was to see, we headed back down the hill on the bus and back to the car.

We realised that we were really close to Flambards and Joe really wanted to take Felicity there as he had gone there as a child and had really fond memories.
It was a 10 minute drive from Gweek to Flambards. The Flambards site is massive! I couldn’t go on many of the rides as I’m 6 months pregnant so Joe and Felicity went on the carousel, the rollacoaster, the self pedaling helicopter, and the log flume. Felicity then had a good play in the toddler soft play area, while we had a sat down and then we headed back to the car.

We then played around outside of the tent and went for a bike ride to the park on the site. It was another beautiful evening and we had lots of fun at the park and seeing all the animals on the campsite (birds, guinea pigs etc).

We were then very much ready for bed! Felicity went to sleep as she was exhausted and we watched some TV on the TV in the tent.
