Crantock & caravans

My parents-in-law, (Ok is that even the right phrase??), came to see our new house on the weekend and loved it! Yay! Myself and Joe’s Mum made scones with Felicity, who loved “minixing”, yes that’s how she pronounces mixing! And then Joe and his Dad went out kayaking on the river Looe, which was also a huge success.

We then went to visit them at their caravan site in Crantock, near Newquay. We also needed to empty our old beloved caravan and get rid of it, as we no longer need it for holidays, as we live in Cornwall. It was ridiculously sad packing all the stuff away and leaving it for the last time. We have had so many funny and happy memories in that caravan. My ultimate favourite thing was when we used to get into bed, with a cup of tea and chocolate, watching match of the day, and it was raining on the caravan roof.

We made the most of the day and went for a big walk as soon as we got to Crantock, walking to my most favourite beach, Polly Joke. Felicity played in the sand and the water. We ran the dogs up and down the beach, found a big dead Gannet (random I know!) and then headed up the headland to our favourite pub, The Bowgie. Oh I love that place. The view is stunning and they do my favourite nachos with chilli con carne.

I would usually have a nice big cold cider there, however, after multiple (I mean, like over 6 attempts); I have stopped drinking alcohol due to sickness. I have never quite felt the same since my emergency c-section with Flicky and my body just doesn’t like the stuff. It’s really no biggie for me, I was never a massive drinker before, but I am gutted I can’t even have one cider at the pub!

We timed the trip from our new house to Crantock and it took 55 mins. This made me very happy; it’s not too long to get there and means I can keep topping up my love of Crantock. Joe’s parents are keeping their caravan there so we will be visiting lots more over the summer.
