https://uk.pinterest.com/pin/354377064415142695/ As I said in my last post, I really want to cook from scratch and I was getting frustrated at myself that I was wasting food. I'm not really wasting the food as all food waste goes to the chickens! They literally eat any scrapes. Obviously I don't give them chicken or egg leftovers, as that was be really wrong! So I suddenly thought in the middle of the night when the dog was barking and Flicky had just woke up, that I could make a soup. I am not the best cook but I try. I also don't like following recipes as I always forget to check where I am at with the recipes and that stresses me out. Anyway, I made a lentil and bacon soup from leftovers and I am mainly doing this post so I can remember what I put in it! Ingredients;
As I said, I don't follow recipes and I am no chef! So I chucked the veg in a big pot and cooked them until they were soft, I then blended them. I tried to use this hand blender I've got but it was rubbish and ended up using a smoothie maker to blend it! I then put it back in the pot and added the veg stock and Philadelphia. And then the last thing I put in was the bacon. I fried the bacon off until it was really crispy. This made it taste really salty. I cooked the lentils separately, they took about 25 mins. I got the lentils from Sainsburys and followed the instructions. I mixed it all together and it was beautiful! The actual soup...totally impressed myself with this
